Femmes Fatales

It’s all about villainous women this week! Okay, sure, you knew that from the title. What you didn’t know is that Pete saw Angelina Jolie chomp scenery in Maleficent and I saw Scarlett Johanssen tour Scotland in Under the Skin!

Yeah, fair enough. You probably could have predicted that too.

But did you guess that for homework we have revisionist fairy-tale The Company of Wolves and two films about infamous homme fatale Hannibal Lecter, Manhunter and The Silence of the Lambs?

I didn’t think so!

So beware the charm of wolves and the siren’s song as you wander with Pete and Justin through the Shoot The Glass podcast!

Revising History

This episode has a mildly provocative and misleading title because we talk about three films that mess with history in one way or another: franchise reboot Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West, and the Groundhog Day-meets-Starship Troopers movie Edge of Tomorrow.

We also discuss the concept of genre. Speaking of genre, what about the name “Same Day, Different Shit” for whatever genre Groundhog Day is?

Just putting it out there.

And for homework we have the curious Wet Hot American Summer.

So don’t draw first but best draw fast as Pete and Justin hide like the cowards they are in the Shoot The Glass saloon!

Old School

It’s late! So here we go! This week we talk Jon Favreau’s food-van movie Chef and Bryan Singer’s return to the franchise he proved could work, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

For homework we have Favreau’s big break, the worthy classic Swingers.

And… yeah, that’s it. There’s not much more to say. Except maybe that it’s a good episode! You’ll like it!

So come and fire up the sandwich-press and remake history with Pete and Justin on the Shoot The Glass podcast!
